Junior slalom team named

The Australian junior canoe slalom team has been named following the 2013 Australian Open, with two NSWIS athletes included.

Headlining the selections is Noemie Fox, the younger sister of Olympic silver medallist and fellow NSWIS athlete Jessia Fox. Fox won gold in the junior women’s C1 at the Australian Open, and will also compete in the women’s K1 at this year’s junior world championships.

Joining Fox on the team is fellow NSWIS athlete Angus Thompson, who makes his Australian junior team debut. Thompson won gold in the junior men’s K1 event at the Australian Open.

Both athletes will compete at the 2013 ICF Canoe Slalom Junior World Championships from July 17-21 in Slovakia.
